At the February ONA meeting, Public Works Director Chris Laity announced that Chinook Avenue is on the county’s priority funding list for repair work and paving late this summer. He stressed that unexpected events like storm damage and landslides could knock it off of the list – so fingers crossed. Laity also indicated that design paperwork and negotiations for Cape Meares Loop Highway project are “95% complete,” hopefully clearing the way to commence work late this year. Most funding will come from federal sources, but the county has been setting aside funds for the Oceanside/Cape Meares project for years for the required matching funds of over $1 million.
