The ONA has reached an important milestone in our Oceanside Beach Access Path Project! In Spring 2018, the Tillamook County Transient Lodging Tax (TLT) program awarded the ONA funds to commission an engineered plan reconfiguring the hazardous beach path. After several drafts and meetings, the ONA has obtained tentative agreement on the final plan by representatives from Oregon Parks and Recreation, Tillamook County Public Works, Tillamook County Community Development and Netarts-Oceanside Fire District. This clears the way for the ONA to apply for the necessary permits from state and county planning agencies, fees for which have already been covered by a generous grant from the Tillamook County PUD Community Development program. The ONA will apply for construction funding for this “shovel-ready project” from the TLT program and other sources early next year, hopefully in time to start construction during the summer. Stay tuned!
