At our April 6 meeting, ONA members adopted zoning limits on alternative energy devices in the village. The new policy permits “quiet” and “low profile” devices mounted on existing structures (such as solar panels and low profile turbine modules) so long as they incorporate wildlife shields. It prohibits any devices mounted on towers or poles, including windmills such as those the county approved at The Schooner restaurant in Netarts. The policy has been inserted into the Oceanside Community Plan prior to its very recent approval by the county.
