We are saddened to report that longtime former ONA President Judson Randall passed away this week. Jud devoted decades of his time and generously gave of his personal resources to the Oceanside community, and especially to preserving Oceanside’s village character and quality of life. He steadfastly led the ONA as its Secretary and then President during tumultuous times while also lending support to numerous county boards and charity organizations. In his professional life before retiring to Oceanside, Jud was an eminent journalist and respected senior member of The Oregonian’s editorial board in Portland. He was also proud of the years he spent nurturing young journalists as the Adviser to Portland State University’s student newspaper, The Vanguard, and other publications. Jud is survived by his wife Jerri, who informs us that a Celebration of Life will be deferred while the family regroups from passing. We will post the date once it is scheduled.
