The ONA Land Use/Community Plan Review Committee has commenced its review of the 2010 Oceanside Community Plan in order to revise the provisions that have become outdated since ONA members formally approved it in 2011. The committee consists of Jerry Keene, Judson Randall, Pam Zielinski, Jerri Sly, Kathie Norris and Sue Wainwright (who was inexcusably omitted from the original announcement!).
Once completed, the committee will offer a list of updates to the text of the Community Plan for consideration and approval at a future ONA meeting. At that point, ONA will resume the land use process that was interrupted in 2010. That means submitting the updated Plan and any proposals for associated zoning ordinance revisions to the county Planning Commission and Board of Commissioners for consideration at public hearings. Oceanside residents are encouraged to review the 2010 Community Plan and provide input on provisions they deem outdated by contacting committee members or emailing them to oceansidefriends@gmail.com. The 2010 Plan is available online.
Please note that proposals for substantive changes to the 2010 Plan will be deferred and kept on file for appropriate consideration by ONA members when we start the separate process of drafting a new Community Plan sometime in the future.
