Beach Path Update

We’ve made great progress on our effort to construct a safer access path at Oceanside Beach Wayside.  Last month, the County finalized the construction plans and publicly solicited bids from contractors.  The response was strong, and a final selection will occur by mid August.  Once selected, the contract calls for construction to begin in September 2019 after most of the summer crowds leave, and for completion by mid November 2019 before the worst storms.  Some time during this period, the County Commissioners will hold a public hearing on final approval of the necessary funding from the TLT (Tourism Lodging Tax) Program.  At that time, we will call on as many Oceansiders and friends to submit letters or personally appear to confirm community support.  We will keep you updated as these exciting events play out.
